Excursion destinations

St. Georgen in the Black Forest with its beautiful landscape offers a lot of opportunities to be active. The mountain town itself is worth a shopping stroll and a visit to the newly designed “Deutsches Phonomuseum” (“German Phono Museum”). To explore how people used to live in the Black Forest, consider visiting the museum of local history “Schwarzes Tor” (“Black Gate”). The temporary exhibitions in the “Kunstraum Grässlin” (“Art Room Grässlin”) show contemporary art worth seeing.

With 250 km (155 miles) of signposted hiking paths and our blissful fresh air we are pleased to invite you to an eldorado for hikers. Whether you wish to stay for the weekend or a two weeks vacation, you will be able to discover new paths and landscapes every day. We will gladly send you a map of walks beforehand.

Riders of all bicycles, whether they ride a mountain bike, just a bike or a motorcycle, appreciate the Black Forest for its beautiful mountain ranges. Whether you are passing through and wish to use our hotel as your base – you will feel comfortable with us and parking for your bicycle is, of course, free of charge as well.

The possibilities for excursions by car, bus or train are endless: the Black Forest with its innumerable mountains and valleys, townlets such as Gengenbach and Schiltach, the Lake Constance, the Castle Hohenzollern or the Zähringen town Freiburg, to name but a few. A day trip to France with its town Strasbourg and the Alsace will be worth your while just as much. To contact many of these destinations directly please visit www.dasferienland.de
